We work hard to make sure all information provided by MI Right to Vote is as accurate as possible. However, this information is presented without warranty, either express or implied, as to its accuracy, timeliness or completeness, and is not intended to replace any official versions of that information.

Michigan’s Campaign Finance Act

As a ballot question committee, we may receive unlimited contribution amounts from any legal source. We may accept direct contributions of money from legal sources in the form of cash ($20 or less), check, money order, credit cards and other electronic transfers. We may also accept loans from individuals and certain other persons. We are responsible for complying with Michigan’s Campaign Finance Act but you have final responsibility for ensuring your own compliance. For instance, the Act provides that a person, other than a committee registered under the Act, making an expenditure to a ballot question committee, shall not, for that reason, be considered a committee for the purposes of the Act unless the person solicits or receives contributions for the purpose of making an expenditure to that ballot committee. Prohibited contributions include, among others, anonymous contributions, cash contributions over $20, contributions from foreign nationals, and contribution in the name of another.

Refund Policy

We will do our best to accommodate requests for refunds for reasons such as input error, like if a contributor accidentally donates twice or enters the wrong donation amount. We will not consider a refund because of a change of mind, and we reserve the right to refuse a refund request for this or other reasons. Also, all refund requests are subject to the availability of the contribution funds. We intend to aggressively spend to achieve the success of our ballot proposals.
